Jesus' authority

Ecclesiastical, 51, 17-27;

Sal 18;

Mc. 11, 27-33

Whence comes the authority to Jesus? That is what raised the chief priests and scribes and elders to Jesus.

The previous day he had dared Jesus to expel the temple vendors unwilling to agree that the temple had to be a house of prayer turned into a den of thieves. They had tried to deal with him but had been afraid because they saw that the people was with Jesus. 'Find a way to kill it' had said the evangelist. So now come to ask or require a response.

But there were many things that had accumulated in a manner of speaking. The town had hailed his arrival in Jerusalem as well as from a distance had witnessed these manifestations of joy by the people. But his teaching with authority over even getting the doctors of the law, who had studied and prepared in the rabbinical schools. But they did not know where he came to Jesus all that wisdom because Jesus in the schools had not studied.

So come to Jesus and ask, 'By what authority are you doing this? Who gave you such authority? " Jesus did not answer directly but poses the puzzle for them who was John and under what baptized in the Jordan. Unresponsive dragged by their fears and worries and Jesus gives no answer.

Whence came such authority to Jesus? Yes, we can respond. Let's look at your life, look at his works, look at his love and mercy. One day a Pharisee principal who had gone to see Jesus by night, Nicodemus, had to confess that Jesus was from God because no one could do the works that Jesus did unless God was with Him

On another occasion Jesus appeal to their works, to see the act of God the Father through the works and their signs. So we have to say, look at his works, look at his love. In love manifested in Jesus discover their authority. The authority of love, mercy, compassion is the most beautiful face of God in Jesus is manifested to us.

Who can make Jesus' miracles? Who can forgive sins? Some had called blasphemous because it attributed the power to forgive sins to God alone compete. 'So you see that I can forgive sins, he said to the paralytic, Arise, take your mat and go back to your home. " And he said the evangelist who were seeing things.

way we can be reviewing all the pages of the Gospel and each of them discover the authority of Jesus. But it might be good to stop at a page that not long ago we heard. Back at the top of Tabor, in the high mountain where he was transfigured the Lord in the presence of his disciples, we hear the voice of the Father: ' This is my beloved Son, my favorite. Listen to him. " listen to the voice of heaven and also listen to Jesus. hear how the Father called his beloved Son and behold the glory of the divinity of Jesus. Is the beloved Son of God. It is the Word of God who speaks and the one true master of our lives. It is the Light and the Way, the Truth and Life.

hear Jesus, contemplate their love and dedication, his mercy and compassion. But let us look at the height of his Pasch. When hung from the tree seemed defeated we are looking victory. Because Jesus is the Lord who lives. Risen Christ is our life and our salvation.

Do we want more reasons to discover what Jesus' authority?
